Materials and Construction

The cover is made of soft and cozy polyester, providing you with airflow and cool night sleep.

The comfort layer uses two-inch Avena foam that is a little bit like latex, and the premium material has quick response to pressure, gives enough bounce and freedom to move, so you can change positions with no need to worry about having too much interference from the mattress. With the air flow channels in this layer, the mattress surface can remain cool all night, and you don’t need to wake up hot and irritated anymore!

The middle layer consists of another two inches of memory foam that helps to relieve pressure and contour to your body. After a long day of tiredness and exhaustion, you can throw yourself on Leesa mattress, and enjoy the comfort from head to toe it brings to you.

The base layer provides core support with 6 inches of high-density poly foam, adding strength, durability, and structure to the mattress.

Lifespan

It seems that buying a mattress is quite an important decision because you don’t want to change it frequently. Therefore, the durability of a mattress is one of the key parameters that you need to pay attention to. Leesa mattress has a 6-year lifespan, seemingly a little worse compared with most of its main competitors.

Firm

On a 1 to 8 scale, with 1 being very soft and 8 very firm, Leesa mattress is regarded to be a 5.5, in other words, medium-firm on average. Very few sleepers find it too firm or too soft, some others see the firmness acceptable but not ideal, and most of the owners feel just right.

Person Size & Sleep Position Suitability

Although Leesa is soft and springy, and responds quickly, making it suitable for most sleepers, here we present a more detailed evaluation of the suitability of the mattress for people of different sizes and sleeping positions.

Ave-sized People (130-230 lbs) Large-sized People (230+ lbs) Small-sized People (Under 130 lbs)
Back Sleep Friendly Excellent Fair Fair
Side Sleep Friendly Good Fair Fair
Stomach Sleep Friendly Excellent Good Fair

Leesa mattress is very friendly for average sized sleepers, and those who are quite large or small should be more cautious before purchasing. In addition, the mattress is not so good for side sleepers because it seems too firm for them.

Edge Support

Like other foam-based mattresses, Leesa also has less edge support. But the mattress will not push you out along the edge, so you will feel well supported and don’t need to worry about rolling out of bed when changing positions. If you often sit on the edge of the bed,  Leesa mattress may have a little bit poor support.

Motion Transfer

Most sleepers are bothered when they are woken up from sleep by the movement caused by their partners. Leesa mattress can help to solve the problem to a large extent. Despite that the Leesa mattress cannot successfully eliminate all the disturbance, it provides the minimal transfer so that light sleepers can sleep soundly when your partner gets up.

Odor & Noise

According to a few people, the Leesa mattress has an enduring unpleasant initial odor, so you may need to ensure proper ventilation at the beginning. In addition, like most foam beds, Leesa mattress makes no noise, giving you quality sleep all night.

Topper Usage

Given that Leesa mattress is a little too firm for side sleepers, it’s necessary to use a topper to lessen its firmness. In addition, a topper makes your mattress flatter and smoother, and draws away the moisture on your body, giving you a cozy and cool night sleep. What’s more, a topper can effectively expand the lifespan of the mattress.

Maintenance

There is no need to flip it. But to prevent and reduce its wear and tear, owners had better rotate it from head to foot 2-3 times a year regularly. Rotating your mattress can help to prevent or minimize the deformation after using for a long time, and extend the lifespan of your mattress.

Customer Service

Free Trial & Warranty

Leesa provides free shipping and returns service covering areas like the USA, Canada, UK, and Germany. If you are in Alaska and Hawaii, you will need to pay $100 return fee. Besides, the White Glove Delivery policy is available, aiming to provide you with more convenience.

Social Policy

Our Recommendations

We Recommend Leesa Mattress To Those Who

  • Like to sleep in multiple positions because its medium-level firmness can suit the widest range of individuals. If you are a side sleeper and need more softness, a topper that lessens the firmness will do the trick.
  • Always wake up feeling hot but still want a memory foam bed in that unlike most traditional memory foam that traps heat, Leesa mattress has an airflow-centric first layer above the memory layer, giving you a cool night sleep.
  • Want to do good and make a difference in the society because Leesa has very positive initiatives mentioned above.

We Do Not Recommend Leesa Mattress To Those Who

  • Prefer innerspring mattresses because Leesa uses foam as its materials.
